"personally i wouldn't even do that . especially on an older engine (like ours ) regular oil changes with quality oils and the correct filter is the best by far imo"

"I have read copious amounts of articles about the dangers of flushing older engines but my engine is 14 years old and a few rough and tapping noises were begging to appear. I knew these were nothing bad but just what to expect of a 14 year old engine. so what I do now is flush my engine twice at an oil change just incase any dirt has been dislodged and stuck. Now it runs as smooth as a wistle (for 4 cylinder standars anways). But I do think that the best way to avoid any uncertainty is to just regularly change the oil and the filter at the service intervals."

Baring in mind there does seem to be abit not alot but a little bit of sludge in the engine (i noticed when i took the cam covers off) baring in mind its what a 18 Year old engine it did look cleaner than my first bravo which was 2001 reg haha "

"everyones opinions differ. but i think they offer no gains only draw backs. they claim to 'increase engine life' 'reduce noise + smoke etc' you can get different ones that do different things. if you have a spare 4days read the article ."

Surely a good regular service and abit of TLC would reduce noise and smoke from the car anyway!! Na cant say i would use them after reading that article!"
