"Well the time has come ive got the back seats in now and ive got a small sub on route for the back so its now time to move the battery to the boot so i can fit the (FMIC) front mounted intercooler. Now as im running a sub build i was thinking about how every car ive had so far the sub always places a drain on the battery and usually makes the lights flicker etc. So i want a battery for the subs amps etc and a battery to power the car. Now of course these 2 batterys will all need to be charged by the cars alternator. So ive been thinking logicly (rare for me i know) but basicly i think if i link the 2 batterys possitive to possitive and negative to negative and then place the car loom onto battery 1 in theory the alternator should share the charge to both batterys?? has anyone ever done this before? got a more simple way to wire them both into the circuit? Also if i were to place a circuit breaker on the possitive feed then i should be able to power off the car at the flick of a switch for when im working on it. is this how others do this? or do you put the circuit breaker on bother possitive and negative terminals to be extra safe? im just worryed i may wire all this up and just end up making a massive ball of fire on wheels? Thoughts and comments please "

"You can get all the wiring connectors fuses cut off switch from vehicle wiring products website thats where I got all my stuff. You should just be able to wire inline as you have described. If your your stereo why not just get a power cap?"

"well i did consider a power cap but i thought having 2 batterys would be a stronger system as a power cap only holds so much power doesnt it? where as a battery will hold more. do you remember what the name of the website was you got it from? or am i being dumb and its actually called vehicle wiring products? lol "

dont link the batteries together like that .. you will blow the altinator up .. drawing double current .. you need a battery charge relay .. you can get one from any caravan supplies place .. that will charge 1 battery till it's full then charge the other one ..

"It was here (http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinestore/home/homepage.php) mate. I bought all my connectors fuses and fuse box cut switches etc. Yeah each power cap has a different power storage rating. Judging by your shopping habbits I'm sure it will be which ever comes up cheapest!! lol "

"if you link your batterys like that you will have 24V blowing everything on your car up! (if i understand you correctly anyway) bulbs fuses etc etc which will probably end up in fire. how big is this sub setup? a powercap would be best imo as this is what its designed for"

"just seen this mate if your running a big enough stereo to warrant having too batteries research a split charge system i had this set up when i was a boy lol - basically had one battery at the front which when i flicked a switch in the car while i was driving charged the battery in the back which powered the stereo if your not running massive stereo systems why not just run some decent size cable to one really good battery in the boot? "thinking i may just do this get 1 very large battery and get a power cap. I read somewhere about regulations for ventilation for the battery if its located in the boot? can anyone confirm this? Not sure if this would be a MOT fail or not! im going to be doing this this up coming month so could be very interesting to see how i get on!! i have invisions of fire but i should prob be confident it will all go ok haha "
