The Land Rover is operated by the group Jaguar Land Rover group, which is owned by the Tatar Group and is based in the UK. The Land Rover is a multi purpose vehicle and was originally launched in 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Show. Originally part of the Rover company the Land Rover soon became a brand name in its own right.
The Land Rover began to design a range of four wheel drive cars and is now one of the longest running manufacturers, closing behind the Jeep. The original Land Rover became known for its longetivity. The company used a rustproof material, (alloy), made up of aluminium and magnesium to ensure the car would cope in the toughest of conditions. It is thought that due to this, 75% of the orignal cars
produced are still in use to this day.
