Polo erratic idling engine problems

as title really, what can cause erratic idling, sometimes its ok but other times when i stop usually when the engine is hot the car starts idling oddly not much just fluttering between 800 (wheres normal) then just pops up to 1500 randomly?


any thoughts as to what could be causing this?

Sounds like a carb issue what model is it mk4 ? Or throttle cable sticking

its injection so don think it will be a carb problem, and no its not the throttle cable as its electronic, going to try changing the plugs this weekend to see if that fixes the issue. Any other tips would be greatful

Aah new ish polo then when do plugs use multi point ones and have you got an induction kit :/ and changed recently ? Maybe that try disconnecting battery over night and place back in in morning and will reset ecu and that could do the trick .

if the above doesn't work i would also check if you have a idle control valve. if so it could be that thats going or on its way out.
