which car?!?!

So I'm looking for a car with the intention modify, nothing too major just a nice clean look but I'm stuck between either mk3 or mk4 golf and then also between say a mk3 Jetta or bora with the extra boot space. Does anyone have any advice or opinions on any of the cars? And also any experience with any of the above? Thanks in advance!
