"Ok just bought a x-type 3.0 sport and want to add some bass...as far as I know adding a new head unit is a PAIN and a half to these and i don't want to be forking out money for custom builds. Yet i want to add a sub and amp for some bass Then i realized that you can use low level converters? Which i just add to back of head unit then bring RCA's from that to the amp and sub. Then i realized my amp has hi level inputs lol. So questions are: 1)is there a huge difference for the level of bass from using a aftermarket unit to Jags standard unit? 2)Also which is better option using the hi level input in the amp and brining back wires directly from speakers or using the converter near the head unit and bringing back RCA's? I love my bass but am not TOO fussy about having perfect sound.."
"personally if you dont want to change the headunit and arent overly bothered about perfect sound i would go with the little box that you put into your speaker wires to provide you with sub outputs. I had one on my old fiat many moons ago and it sounded ok not amazing as the standard unit was only something like 4X6w haha but it wasnt bad. For some serious bronko boom though i would just go with getting a decent headunit and sub and amp that way. hope that helps "
But do i need that little box because my amp seems to have it built in as a hi-level input..or is that not as good. im praying jags don't have proper headunits
if you dont have rca connectors on your headunit to connect it to your amp you will need that box for ease.
But my amp has what that box is essentially built in as far as im aware..
"well im not sure if were talking about the same thing but if you already have it then i think you have just answered your own question havent you?? "
