Alfa Romeo 166

The Alfa Romeo 166 is an executive car and was produced between 1998 and 2007. The 166 was actually designed before the 156 and was supposed to be released in October 1994. During this time, however, Alfa Romeo's sales were flagging so the project was shelved so they could concentrate on the 156. The car received a facelift in 2003 to improve some styling details. However, the facelift did not improve sales as much as Alfa Romeo had hoped. In October 2005 Alfa Romeo removed the model from right hand drive markets.

The car was released as a replacement for the 164. When the car was released, it received many raised eyebrows due to some styling details. This was due to the models pointed nose and drooping headlights. The facelift in 2003 reduced the length of the models nose and changed the style of the grille. Alfa paid a lot of attention to the interior of this model. The Alfa logo is embroidered in to the seats. However, there is limited space for passengers sitting in the back. This includes issues with both leg and head room. Passengers may have a feeling of claustrophobia as a result. There is plenty of room up front for the driver and passenger.
