Fiat Multipla

Car Reviews » Fiat » Multipla

The Fiat Multipla was launched in 1998 and is a compact MPV. The Multipla was based on the Fiat Brava, however, the Multipla is shorter and wider. In fact, the Multipla is shorter than the 3 door Fiat Bravo. The Multipla also differs from it's rivals in its category because this model has 2 rows of 3 seats, whereas other MPV's have 2 seats in the front.

The design of the interior of the Multpila offers lots of space for all the passengers, and the front middle seat is surprisingly easy to access. This middle front seat also folds down to create a table. The rear seats recline and the middle rear seat also slides to offer the rear passengers more room. This results in a spacious car and the deep glass creates a light and airy feeling. However, if the rear passengers want head room, it is advised that you do not choose the optional twin sunroofs. The vertical sides of the seats offer a lot of shoulder and neck support to the passengers. The plastic in side the Multipla does appear slightly cheap and old fashioned.

The exterior of the Multpila was not well received when it was originally launched. Therefore, Fiat gave the model a face lift, fitting it with new lights, smoother bumpers and a more streamlined look. This resulted in a more positive response to the Multipla. The driver position is reasonable and adjustable, which makes it a comfortable car to drive.
