The X1/9 was produced by Fiat during the years 1972 and 1982, and was then produced by Bertone during the years 1982 and 1989. The X1/9 was well known due its design and the fact that it was designed from its conception that was first seen in the 60s. The concept car that the X1/9 was based on was called the Autobianchi. When the X1/9 was first launched it was immediately loved by many, however, after years of rumours of rusting and poor electrics, the warm reception began to cool.
The design of the X1/9 draws a lot of attention as the exterior is very similar to the Lamborghini. The design was classed as being edgy at the time of its launch. The model uses pop up headlights which makes the model appear sporty. It also used a state of the art technical package that was ahead of its time. At the time off its launch, this was classed as being pretty radical. Its surprisingly spacious for both the passenger and the driver.
