The Ford C-Max is often called the Ford Focus C-Max and is a compact MPV. The C-Max started being produced in 2003. There have been two versions of the C-Max. The first was produced between the years of 2003 to 2010. It was the first model to use the Ford C1 platform. This model seats five passengers and also had a large amount of cargo space. Folding down the seats could increase this space. Some models also included diagonally sliding outer seats. This first C-Max underwent a facelift in 2006. The facelift was revealed at the Bologna Motor Show. The facelift used Ford’s Kinetic Design language. This is evident in the large wheel arches and angular headlights. The second version of the C-Max, (Mk II), was launched in 2010 and is still being produced today. The vehicle was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. Early models had 5 seats and 7 seaters entered the market in 2010.
The handling of the car is excellent for a vehicle this size. It has little body roll on corners and the steering is quick and responsive. The weighting on the wheels also adds to the driving experience. The interior is impressive, in that the wind and road noise is inaudible. However, the noise increases on motorways. There is a lot of head and leg room for the driver and the front passenger. The seats are comfortable on long journeys and the high driving position offers excellent visibility.
