Audi Q7

The Audi Q7 was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2005 and is a full sized 7 seater luxury SUV. This was the first SUV offered by Audi. The Q7 uses the modified platform of the Volkswagen Group PL71.

The long wheel base makes it spacious for front and second row passengers. The third row of seats can feel cramped for rear passengers. The third row seats can be folded in to the boot floor to increase the size of the boot. The interior features a number of gadgets including an anti blind spot radar. The radar detects overtaking vehicles and warns the driver through lights in the housing of the door mirrors.

The Q7 was the first Audi to feature the Audi Side Assist. A red warning light appears in the drivers side mirror if a car is in the drivers blind spot. The driver and the front passenger are protected by front, side and head airbags. The head airbags extend to protect the rear passengers. The Q7 also features a rollover stabilisation programme. The programme intervenes if the car detects that it is in danger of toppling over.
