The Audi RS2 was manufactured from Marsh 1994 to July 1995. The RS2 was an Audi high performance limited edition five door, five seat station wagon. The RS2 was the first in Audis RS models. The RS stands for RennSport and means racing sport in German. This model is regarded as the model that established Audi has a car manufacturer of practical high performance vehicles. Audis’s RS models are produced as limited numbers on a limited time scale. Audi announced that they would build 2200 RS2 models. Due to high demand, 2891 RS2 models were actually built. Of these 2891, only 180 were built as right hand drive cars for the UK and South Africa. Audi also uses their most pioneering technology in the RS models.

The Audi RS2 was a co-development between Audi and Porsche and was based on Audi’s 80 Avant. There are parts of the Audi 80 meshed with parts from the Porsche 993 and 991. The RS2 uses the Porsche 993 wing mirrors, and the 993 turbo brakes. The model also uses the Porsche indicators. The RS2 uses the same design for its rear reflector as seen on the Porsche 991.

The interior has a three spoke leather steering wheel, and includes full sports bucket seats that are available in either full leather, or a combination of leather and suede. The dashboard is available in either wood or carbon fibre.
