BMW Z4

Car Reviews » BMW » Z4

The BMW Z4 is rear wheel drive sports car and replaced the BMW Z3. The Z4’s first generation, (E85), started production in 2002 and were available as a roadster and a coupe. The second generation, (E89), of the Z4 began production in 2009.

The seating position of the car is very very low and the elongated bonnet makes you feel like you are sitting even lower than you are. The seats are comfortable, but lack side support. The sports suspension may result in the ride not feeling very comfortable, but you are given a feeling of confidence when travelling around corners. The Z4 comes with adjustable adaptive chassis control, which means you can alter the responses of the throttle, steering and stability control. This means you are in control of your own driving experience.

The Z4 is fitted with a number of safety features. The model includes four air bags and fixed roll over hoops. Models from 2006 include brake pre-tensioning and brake drying. Brake drying is where the discs are dried by the occasionally gently applying the pads. The Z4 uses run fat wheels which means the driver can run the car for a short time after the wheel has been punctured. There is also a puncture warning indicator.
