Citroen AX

Car Reviews » Citroen » AX

The Citroen AX was manufactured from 1986 to 1998 and is supermini. The AX was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 1986, and the range was slimmed down in 1998 with the release of the Saxo. The AX was launched to replace the Citroen Visa and LNA. When the AX was first launched it was released as a three door model and then was released shortly afterwards as a five door model.

The car was designed to be economical. This was due to the aerodynamics. The light body is due to the use of plastic panels in the non-load bearing areas. The AX is small and relatively low which results in excellent handling.

The dashboard is clear and the dials are well positioned which makes it easy for the driver to use. The car is comfortable for the passengers, however, it can be a bit crammed in the rear for 3 adult passengers, especially tall passengers. There is a spacious boot that can be extended by lowering the back seat.
