The Citroen C2 was launched in 2003 and is supermini-class car. The C2 was launched as a replacement to the Citroen Saxo. The C2 was designed with a young driver image with 2 doors. The C2 received the best European hatchback in September 2003.

The C2 used a number of new technologies in its design. These include the SensoDrive five speed-automatic transmission and the Stop & Start environmental system. The Stop & Start system is an hybrid system that automatically disengages the car’s engine when you bring the car to a complete standstill. Pressure is also applied to the brake pedal. When the pressure is released off the brake pedal, the engine quickly restarts. The system requires pressure being placed on to the brake pedal, putting on the handbrake is not sufficient to operate the Stop & Start system. This system is mounted on the SensoDrive Gearbox. The SensoDrive Gearbox is an electrically controlled manual gearbox.

The interior of the C2 is extremely spacious in the front. There is plenty of room for taller drivers. However, it is a little cramped in the back for rear passengers. There are a number of different sitting positions for the driver, that include height adjustment.
