The Daihatsu Terios was first released in 1997 and is a mini SUV. The Terios is available as a four wheel drive and as a two wheel drive. It comes with a 5 speed manual transmission or as a 4 speed automatic transmission.

The Terios has been made to be a lot bigger than its predecessor, the Fourtrak. It has a meaner looking front end and has been designed with a deep front bumper that is topped with a flat, yet curved bonnet. The rear end of the Terios has a side opening door. There is a rear mounted spare wheel and the rear window wraps itself into the main part of the vehicle. The Terios has a long wheel base, that makes it capable of off road driving.

The height of the vehicle makes it a lot easier for the driver to see what the other drivers on the road are doing. The good all round visibility makes it easier to park. There is also parking sensors fitted. The Terios comes with five doors which makes it easy for the driver and passengers to access the vehicle. The interior is spacious for all of its occupants. The seats are firm and comfortable. The rear seat is a 60:40 bench that sits 3 passengers with all three having a three point seatbelt. The rear seat folds flat and this increases the size of the boot.
