Daihatsu YRV

Car Reviews » Daihatsu » YRV

The Daihatsu YRV is a mini MPV and the name YRV stands for Young Recreational Vehicle. The YRV was launched as a direct rival to the Nissan Micra and the Suzuki Ignis.

The interior is spacious for the driver and the front passenger; however, it is quite cramped in the rear. There is about enough space in the rear to fit two adult passengers. All seats in this vehicle are unsupportive and too small to fit adults comfortably. The rear seats can be slid forward to increase the size of the boot. The rear seats can also be slid back to increase the amount of legroom. The rear seats can also be folded flat to increase boot size and the boot opening is fairly large. This makes loading and unloading a lot easier. There is a lack of adjustment on the steering wheel. This makes it harder for the driver to find a comfortable driving position.

There is a lack of safety and security features fitted as standard on the YRV. There are dual front airbags, but side airbags are not even available as an optional extra. ABS is only an option on top models. There is no alarm available on this model. If you want an alarm, you will have to buy it separate.
