When SEAT was first launched they manufactured rebadged Fiat models which werent really that much different from the originals. In 1982 SEAT manufactured their first car with out Fiat involvment and was called the SEAT Ronda. The problem with this was it was basicly a restyled Fiat Ritmo, and this then sparked a lawsuit from Fiat against SEAT. SEAT then highlighted all the similaritys to Fiat which showed SEAT had changed a few things and so the lawsuit was dropped.
In the mid 2000s Volkswagen took 100% ownership of the company and following the VW input have developed many successful models such as the SEAT Leon, the SEAT IBIZA and many more.

Seat Leon
The SEAT Leon is a small family car built by the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT and was first manufactured in 1999. It uses the Volkswagen A platform and shares parts from the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and Skoda Octavia.
Seat Ibiza
The SEAT Ibiza is a small hatchback manufactured by Volkswagen but sold with a SEAT badge. The SEAT Ibiza has been manufacturered for many years and is still a big hit today. The car has been manufactured in both three door and five door models and models from 1993, were available as a saloon, coupe and estate but was sold as the SEAT Cordoba.
