Subaru is a Japanese car manufacturer and started in 1917 as Fuji Heavy Industries as The Aircraft Research Laboratory. Then between 1953-1955 the company had a shuffle around and began developing engines, chassis and other car parts and scooters. The name Subaru in Japanese can be translated into English and means, to govern, unite, or gather together.
Subaru is well known for their boxer engines of which is used in most of their vehicles manufactured. The company decided to use all wheel drive in most their manufactured cars as standard equipment in 1996. For most of their cars manufactured, the offer a turbocharged version. A perfect example of this is the Subaru Impreza WRX which of course renouned for their rally racing.

Subaru Impreza
The Subaru Impreza was first introduced in 1993 and is one of the more well known Subaru's. Appearing at shows, trackdays, and especially rally events, the Subaru Impreza is probably one of the most iconic rally and track cars today. What with their huge tuning capabilitys and unique engine tone and sound.
Subaru Legacy
The Subaru Legacy is a large saloon car manufactured by Subaru in February 1989. The standard equipped symmetrical 4WD setup is unique to the Legacy considering the size and style of vehicle, When compared to its competition being, the Honda Accord, and the Nissan Altima. s.
Subaru SVX
The Subaru SVX, is a large and powerfull GT coupé that was sold between 1991 to 1997. It was Subaru's first attempt at creating a luxury car that also has the performance (for the time). The Subaru SVX laid out a acceleration from 0-60 mph in 7.3 seconds, With a top speed in the earlyer models being 154 mph, while in later models the speed was limited to 143 mph. Though powerful enough for the time, the SVX is a relativly heavy vehicle when compaired to others in its class.
Toyota-Subaru coupe
On April 10, 2008, Toyota doubled its stake in Subaru and announced that Toyota and Subaru are developing a 2-door coupe that is due to be released in 2011. The Toyota-Subaru coupe will be sold in Japan only as a Toyota, and as a Subaru everywhere else. The Subaru version will be branded as the Impreza coupe, it will be a rear-wheel drive and will utilise the 2.0 liter boxer engine with the possability to be developing a 2.5 turbo from the WRX STi and 4WD.
