"as above when we service the bravo going to change the gearbox oil as she is getting on abit and so could probably do with it. any thoughts as to where i can get this from? and is it going to be costly? also on the topic of oil what blagged my head is i went to tesco and bought 4litres of castrol GTX diesil oil and it was 11.98 or summit then above it was the same grade oil but 2litres for 10 quid?? just made me laugh at the time as really why would you buy half the amount for a quid or so less?? haha"

Try ebay or your local garage or even halfords. If you know the right 'w' oil you'll know what to ask. I just bought 6 x 1litre packs of royal purple 10-40w oil. Came just under 60 quid but very good stuff. Afaik you can use it on diesels too

i have a lolal car shop called romac. i know there are a few around the country but on my rover(R.I.P) the gear box was on its way out. so i bought some actuall gear box oil some other stuff that was meant to be the slippiest lubricant around and it lasted me another year. and for obth it cost £25.

ah but can you be certain the gear box would have gone sooner without it? lol. as you will never know will you? gear box could have survived that long either way.

Engine oil is different to gearbox oil. You need to find what grade yours takes and the quantity"
