What Is Remapping

Remapping is simply a way of improving the performance of your car's engine by adjusting the engine ignition, air intake and fueling settings. Remapping the engine involves overwriting your cars engine's standard program with an optimised program this program will basically fine tune air, ignition and fuel ratio to the engines optimised level. Each engine has a perfect air and fuel mix setting and an ideal ignition setting at every single rev throughout the engines rev range. If you are intending on adding performance modifications, eg Air filter, exhaust,large intercooler, turbo etc, then it is best to do these prior to the re-map to ensure the best performance gains are achieved.

ECU Remapping On Different Engine Types

Naturally aspirated petrol Engines
You will gain 10-15% BHP after remapping a petrol engine depending on your car. You may see up to 20% more torque. You will have an improved throttle response and your car will also become more responsive when you accelerate.

Petrol Turbo Engines
You will gain 20-30% BHP after remapping a petrol turbo engine. You will also gain 25% torque. Your car will have smoother power delivery due to there being more flexibility in all gears. You will find that it is safer to over take other vehicles.

Diesel Turbo Engines
The highest gains of ECU remapping are found in diesel turbo engines. You can gain 30-50% BHP and between 60-75% torque after remapping a diesel turbo engine. You will see better fuel efficiency and extra power through all the rev ranges in your car.
