The Fiat 500 was originally launched in 1957. Almost all production of the 500 ceased production in 1975, apart from the limited production of the Fiat 500 K estate, which ceased production in 1977. When the 500 was originally produced it was launched as a cheap, practical town car. The 500 are considered to be one of the first town cars to ever be made available. It was styled on the pattern of the Volkswagon Beetle. Fiat relaunched the 500 in 2007. The new style 500 was very similar to the original except it was a longer and heavier front wheel drive vehicle.

The Fiat 500 sparkles most when it is being driven round urban streets. Its small dimensions make it easy to manoeuvre and its light handling makes controlling the car in this type of environment much easier. However, the 500 does not handle very well in other environments.

The interior is stylish and retro. The stylists of the new model captured the essence of the original 500. There is a special attention to detail in the Fiat 500 that you can either love or hate. Both the new and old style 500 lack space, which can make travelling in this car for long distances very uncomfortable. There are also lots of different combination of add ons that you can choose from. In fact there are 549,396 possible spec combinations!
