The Audi A3 started to be produced in 1996 and was a small family car. The A3 uses the Volkswagen Group A platform and is one of Audis best selling models.

The A3 has a number of features that increases the amount of storage space. There are secret drawers under the driver and passengers sporty seats. However, it is not spacious in the back for rear passengers.There is a lower roofline which results in less headroom. The A3 is slightly shorter than five door cars. The interior consists of black leather and aluminium trimmings. Frequently used parts in the car, including the steering wheel, are trimmed in leather. The seats are comfortable, and are adjustable. The suspension is good which also aids in making this car a comfortable ride. There is also good noise reduction in this model. The dashboard is simple and uncluttered, and is made from soft touch materials.

Audi has paid attention to the safety of the car. There are passenger and driver front and side airbags and also includes the additional sideguard protection system. There is a seat belt warning light and the rear includes three 3 point seat belts. The Audi also features brake pad wear indicators and ABS.
