Car Reviews » Citroen » Xantia
The Citroen Xantia was first seen at the end of 1992 and was produced between 1993 and 2001. Citroen sold over 1.2 million models of this family car during its eight years of production. Citroen designed the Xantia to replace the Citroen BX. It was argued that the Xantia was meant to be the bigger,, more upmarket version of the BX.
The Xantia was argued to be a comfortable ride due to its large comfortable cabin, hydropneumatic suspension and generous equipment fitted as standard. There is plenty of room inside for all the passengers and driver to have a comfortable ride. However, the design of the interior is not to everyones taste and it can become damaged over time. There is plenty of space in the boot, that can be extended by lowering the rear seats.
The Xantia does not score high on safety features. Drivers air bags were not fitted into this model until 1994. The passenger airbag were also not fitted as standard and were only available as an optional extra.
