Daihatsu Charade

Car Reviews » Daihatsu » Charade

The Daihatsu Charade was introduced in 1977 and is a supermini. Daihatsu argued that this is a large compact car. The three cylinder 1.0 does sound quite sporty for such a small engine.

The interior is spacious for the front passenger and the driver. However, it is a tight squeeze in the rear. This is made more apparent when there are three tall passengers in the rear, or you are carrying a large amount of luggage. The passengers will be OK for short journeys, but they will become uncomfortable on longer journeys. The back seats have a 60/40 split with two mini headrests that are built in to the seats. The wide doors make it easy for the passengers to get in and out of the vehicle.

The car is distinctive looking. The front end is very much like the Ford Escort. The indicators are built into the colour coded bumper and are not separate. The rear is more curved than the front.
