CAR MISSFIRING CAN ANYONE HELP OR ADVISE

ok this is for a mate of mine really he has a 1.6 golf GTI and its missing all over however the strange thing is it can be perfectly fine then it will do it for a few weeks now believe me this is some serous juddering he gets its like your physically being shaken.we have tryed all the injector cleaners etc with no joy. so what could it be?? do we think one of the injectors has just totally gone? and if so how can we tell?? cheer in advance guys

i had a similar problem with a VR6 corrado. it had no go at 1st just wansnt pulling then it was idling bad then it had been ok.
turned out the HT leads had gone green inside common VW problem according to the lad i bought the leads off. but the only way you can tell is by cutting them.
or by doing a resistance test against a known good lead. good luck. johny

try that ....lmao

i would definatly try the cheapest part first eg ht leads
then if not try coil pack etc and to check the injectors (not sure if this is any good for the car) but i removed each ht lead at a time and if it idles more irraticly than it did then its probably not that one and if theres no difference then it could show which injector needs replacing.BUT DONT GO TO A GARAGE FOR IT SERIOUSLYas i went for a new injector on my old car and got a silly quote. looked on ebay got a new injector for 30 quid and it really was a piece of piss to fit no way worth the amount they quoted me.

as mentioned id go with plugsht leads coil packs injectors

i just aint got a clue :lol:

All sorted now cheers everyone! was the second injector had to order one from vw!! wasnt cheap (i did tell him what James said but he is the sort that likes it all done propperly by VW etc)@Tom haha i thought we werent going to discuss that again?? that reminds me i still have them axel stands and ramps!! i need to drop them back at yours again
