Right . well since october the car has had its mot and has been driven with its re-con engine (my 1st attempt at 1 i will add)

it was all going well i would just done 1200miles in it without taking it over 3.5K revs.
so yesterday i decided i would . i would see what it was really made of.
gets on the A19 ( i travelled 23mile 2 it cos i love that road )
foot down to 5K revs 3rd gear flying along and i lost power.
then it was running not rough but not right if ya get me.
not sure wats rong with it at the mo but i limped it back and today is investigation. im flumoxed tbh....any suggestions...

Check your vacuum hoses and also make sure your water pipes are not leaking. Double check your spark plugs and leads are all intact and not loose.

faulty tensioner apparntly its been a common fault since they modified the design
not sure on full extent of damage but did a compresssion test and it wasw a quite low on1+3
got a spare engine so goin to fit that over weekend
and sort the other
it will be quicker i reckon than tryin 2 source bits over new year
