"ok heres the deal this is an item im not to clued up on what so ever. ive read everywhere that its advised to uprate the flywheel and clutch at the same time. so with the car booked in soon im now pondering if i should be looking in this direction or if the standard flywheel will be fine. the car has 104tho miles and not too sure how a flywheel is supposed to last in general. and will with me haveing the uprated clutch just destroy the flywheel now? all advise welcome as im pretty damn confused on this one lol "

I don't know much about this either but unless it's mega power upgrade it won't destroy the flywheel

"Standard flywheel will cope with more than enough mate. Unless you plan on dumping the clutch a lot or work the gears fast you won't really need a lightened flywheel (thats basically what an uprated flywheel is). The only time you would is around 400-500hp if that to cope with the power. Besides do you want a rattly flywheel when your car is stationary? Its bloody annoying! If you really want a new flywheel buy a stock one to replace the old 104000 mile one "

"flywheel should last the life of the car if you get a lightend one make sure its from a reputable seller and not some old cowboy with a lathe. me & a m8 fitted a lightend flywheel to a Mg B he hadn't had it balanced ( we didnt know at the time) 3days and not many miles later shatter . hell of a mess."

"ive left the standard flywheel in as apparantly it all looked ok when they fitted the clutch. and i doubt the JTD getting to that much power to need it uprating to be fair if it can handle the sort of power dazzi's said lol "
