"as above i think mine is on its way out just want to make sure. only way i can describe it is when im driving weather im accelerating at a set speed or slowing down. every now and again i get like a small resistance on the car it feels like im braking while accelerating. but obviously i aint touching the brake or the clutch. it aint small either when it happens it feels like a jolt. i aint noticed if the revs change but tbh i aint heard the car noise change. but is this my clutch going? or something else? "

Your clutch sounds fine. Have you checked your brakes? - might be binding etc also maybe you need to reset your ECU as they tend to go off track after a year so you might be suffering from flat spots. With supras to reset the ecu you can either take out the main fuse or disconnet the battery for 15 mins and press on the brakes.

"yeah thats it flat spots are what it feels like i was told a while back that a flat spot was your spark plugs not firing correctly? so you got a miss fire n it felt like something holding the car back?. well this is similar but alot more noticable. will reseting the ECU do anything to my car? eg wipe mileage off remove my service thingy which tells me how many miles i got left. or owt like that?"

"Flat spots happen because of the ECU. You have an aftermarket filter right? Thats what might be causing it. You will know if you have a misfire as you get a 'put put put' sound and lose performance throught out the rev range. It won't reset your milage just your ecu and your clock"

Disconnet the battery yes and press the brake to drain any power that might still remain
