"Ok im just wanting to clarify this with a few others to check i have got this right prior to wasting any money. Ok the 1.9JTD Lump is the same accross the board of fiat and alfa the only difference is the difference of heads the 16v and 8v. Now mine is a 1.9JTD 8v and the 6 speed gearbox im after is off a alfa romeo 156 1.9JTD 16v. now will this fit on mine and work ok even though the heads are different? and just to check all i will need is.... Gear box Gear link arms Gear leaver (so it can have lift reverse) and gear selector plate anything else? cheers in advance"

I wouldn't think any foreign gearbox would fit straight on without modification. Has anyone on the bravo forum actually done this before? If the heads are different you will need to fabricate them yourself. Also you got to make sure the 2 fit together without leaking.

"well as the base engine is the same lump a few on the fiat forum have said this is do able. however i obviously dont wanna waste alot of money on it for it not to fit right etc. everyone else on the bravo and alfa forums have just been completely stum about it all and i dont think theres any other 6 speed bravo mk1 or mk2 bravos. heres the post of the chap that seems to believe it is do able. "if the block is the same i see no reason why the box will not fit. you'll need linkages like you say. are the hubs the same? if not you'll need a set of shafts + hubs + then potentially brakes. i bet it could be done sounds do-able. but i'm no fiat enthusiast or expert"
