I am a newbie and have just acquired an 07 Passat 2.0L TDI. I am thinking of adding a dump valve, but have heard several people say they actually lose performance. I am not interested in the "nice sound" they make. Can anyone help that has either fitted one or is in the know. Many Thanks, Andy

Hi andy welcome to the site, generally dump valves on diesels don't sound that great anyway. It wont improve performance, a dump valve is merely designed to add longevity of the turbo under high boost pressures. It can in some instances improve acceleration, however if you haven't tuned your setup already this will just cause the standard setup to over fuel and thus cause a performance loss and increase fuel consumption.

Hope that helps.
