Got a new hybrid turbo from Turbo Technics, having to wait for a new oil pipe to come though, so can't fit until Tuesday

The standard pipe on mine is a braided one

They said they would want £650 as an exchange unit. Should be fitten on Friday as I am too busy during the week. Will be in Leeds for a club rolling road session on the 5th, so I need to fit, test and tune it before then.

sounds good and it's nice it's braided as standard makes for easy fitting. On the 200 it was solid piping and was a nightmare to try fit back together so I had to go braided FTW

I must say 650 sounds a good price, cheapest I got quoted for a T28 none hybrid was 400!! to which I walked away haha.

well correct me if im wrong here people, but as far as im aware, a hybrid turbo is simply a customised turbo.

Eg a T3 turbo front and housing and a T4 turbo rear internals would make a T34 hybrid.

The differences can be anything from a different propeller design or turbine design, or the shaft connecting to the bearings being different.

Hope that clears that up and if thats not the case please advise as im not 100% sure on the above.

Yes, it is an amalgamation of other turbos. I originally had a GT1749 VNT turbo but now I have a GT1752. So the compressor went up by just 3mm but the difference is vast. I now make 30psi from 2500 to the red line. From 2000rpm I can make the same max boost as the standard turbo though. My peak torque still comes in at 2500rpm as a result but now hits 360lbft without the water/methanol running. Need to get on the rollers now I have all four nozzels running at 1.6ltr/min of water/methanol.

For the record, my Hybrid is still going strong and has a remap aswell as a tuning box and water/methanol now Not that I am greedy... Trying to get a custom map from EDS with a slightly hight red line of 5500rpm.
