"Well i just thought i would start a post about the quick shift my brother fitted me for my birthday. As with everything else on this car it wasnt exactly easy to get the old one off but after abit of hammering and f'ing and bliming the standard shift came out and with a bit of a fiddle the new quick shift went in. Well i would recomend one of these to anyone who hasnt got one! what a difference its much firmer and so much easier to change gear. (i know its easy anyway but trust me this makes it even more simple!) its almost like a tiptronic box but without the delay!! Those coming to Rising sun car show this weekend will see what i mean when were there! "

"i think mine was about 35quid simon (my brother) said off ebay. i was chatting to dazzi about it and he said the ebay short shifts are abit renound for breaking but simons had his on his car for a while now with no problems so will have to see what its like. But even the more expensive ones are only about 50-60quid and its a real noticable difference just been out at dinner in it (had to get number plate sticky pads as my personal plate will be going on next few days) and its lovely to drive its so stiff and firm going into gears and just feels really nice and solid. I also used to miss 3rd gear on serious acceleration some times however this has seemed to have stopped that problem now!"

From what I know I think that they raise the pivoting point therefore shortening the distance the shifter moves. Basically shortens the travelling distance of everything therefore faster.
