"well personally i would recomend gettig a second unit and running that could save you alot of pennys. AET turbos quoted me 800quid now for a T28 but 300quid to rebuild one and ive got a second hand one for 120quid so even if it goes next week i pay 300 to rebuild ive still saved my self a good 380 quid!!! hope you get sorted fella "

"either that or you are running too higher boost and presures for that turbo to handle? maybe try a larger unit running same psi and you will see a benifit without running your turbo to the max giving better longlivity of the turbo i guess in theory that would help"

"also change your oil regulary dont rev your car too harshly from cold and let it idle for a while before you knock it off . your turbine shaft spins on average for an extra 2-3 minutes after the engine is turned off if its just been reved that can double. so all that time with no oil been pumped to it? the man from del monte? he say no "

"cheers for the replies although I already know this. Oil changed every 2 or 3K for top notch Silkoline Pro not cheap! Car is always left to tick over for 5 mins before swicthing off. Never boosted until both water and oil up to temp. I think the damage was done before I had my oil pump changed - it was 18 years old though so can't complain. Also this tubby hasn't been above 1.2 bar which isn't a great deal. Had my old one running at 1.6 bar. I would have changed it up to a GT3071 last time but had only just spent _Ǭ£300 on a new turbo elbow/downpipe so didn't really fancy having yet another one made up. Its just sat on the drive at the mo til I get back off my hols - going to Jamaica for 2 weeks on 3rd of Dec so my prioity will be a blunt and a red stripe rather than the spanners and a turbo!! Hopefully get it sorted soon then I can come over to a meet."
