"ok im thinking no like a really big no its ok its funny when she blitzs people and they see a cloud of smoke out of the back and i love the fact that i can be really going for it and still get 55mpg! but i am also aware that having a car that sounds like a bus or van isnt too attractive and it frustrates me and as you cant beat a nice petrol engine sound. now for my rear spiller to fit (as the bravo standard exhaust is like a pigs tail and curls back) i require either a tail pipe change so it will fit through the slot allocated in the kit or i fit my exhaust which will fit through the slot also. so what is everyones opionions about this? should i do this horrible crime? (baring in mind at shows etc i will have the engine off and no one will ever know haha) "
I wouldn't put a jap style pipe on but maybe a twin pipe polished. I still remember that day years back a turbo diesel escort with straight through pipe was parked up. The sound was like a loud tractor basically.
"well i got a very subtle exhaust its just 2 round ovals as its a euro car its got to have a more euro look i hate jap look on euro cars etc imo it really just doesnt look right haha. but yeh thats what im worryed about is it going to sound totally stupid? heres what it looked like on my old bravo (this was after i first fitted it and so was a rubber missing haha so thats why its wonky before anyone comments! it was straight the following day lol "
"and remember at liquid cars james? that diesel with big exhaust on back? think it was a corsa or golf or summin. depends what you want fella if your wanting the look for your body kit then get a silent back box fitted with a decent tip. just a sugestion. and remember at liquid cars that guys astra? you asked hi if were a diesel coz it sounded like one? his face when u asked lmao and his responce ""NO! its petrol"" he werent a happy chappy"

Quote:lmfao!!!! hahaha yeh that was really funny! but we all stood there and all agreed it was diesil as it sounded so much like one! and his snotty comment NO ITS JUST WHAT VAUXHALLS SOUND LIKE haha jesus i thought he was going to cry lol! but if that was a diesil it did sound niceish for a diesil lol. as for that i think it was a 306 we saw it sounded ok ish i guess but still dont know. the exhaust is the cheaper option as its already there so wont cost me anything just a matter of putting it on."
Phil and remember at liquid cars that guys astra? you asked hi if were a diesel coz it sounded like one? his face when u asked lmao and his responce ""NO! its petrol"" he werent a happy chappy
well get it fitted as u can just have it bolted on? and if you dont like it swap it back with standard.

must of been a petrol with knackered pistons
"Can't see what difference would be to be fair. Obviously never going to get the same sound as a petrol. If it looks the part. go for it.. "
i agree with fizzypop if it looks good with your bodykit get it fitted! looks good on that pic you have posted up there very subtle i dont really like it when you see a corsa with a huge exhaust you could hide in if needed lol
"turbo diesels respond well to an exhaust power wise. i dont know if you already have but the bravos also respond well to a remap. iirc im sure a 105bhp bravo can be taken to around 145bhp just with a remap alone. add to that an exhaust and an intake filter and your looking at a pretty quick bravo. theres no need for it to sound like a tractor unless you really open it up with very little silencing.
