Modding a VW Golf MK4 1.6L

So ive just gone and got myself my first car, i got an mk4 golf 1.6L. I need some good suggestions on what mods I should do to the car. I want more bhp, better handling and it to look nice so what mods shall i do ? i have a budget of about £2500

Stainless exhaust and panel filter. They would be your first call. Maybe a remap but you won't see big power only about 10/20 with mods and map.
