"Hi my 1st post on this forum so hello all! Does anyone know where I can get my current rims made wider? I know it would be just as cheap to buy new rims in the right size but they don't make them that wide and I like my rims. So any ideas?? I'm in the SE of the UK so somewhere in the vacinity would be nice although I would travel a fair way to get them done right. Thanks for the help Paul."

"Hi mate and welcome to tbh i have no idea how they would be able to do this safely? i believe you can fit a profile wider tyre on some alloy wheels depending on the rim depth but actually widening the alloy i have never heard of... "

What are you trying to do? Bring the wheel out so it has a better stance? Theres always spacers if this is the case but im a bit dubious about them tbh.

"I'd like to replace my 275 x 17"" with 325 x 17"" but like my polished steel rims so would like to make them wider. I know this is fairly comon in the US but seems rarer here in the UK. Any ideas??"

"unless the wheels are split rims i dont think this is possible i think your only option will be getting a new set of wheels. Im quite intreaged on this however if you do find a solution to widen your wheels please come back and let me know as i love my wheels also and would also want them wider for better traction on the back. Ive never seen a set of 325 tyres but jesus i bet they will blow your bank open come replacement time!! "
